6 of us met at the Bath Hill East car park and shared cars to drive to Woodford Lodge. This has a nice restaurant with delightful elevated views over Chew Lake and free parking. We used a newly-constructed footpath along the edge of the lake with good views, then across the dam to Salt and Malt café where we met 6 more members. Now 12 in number we enjoyed coffee and cake there before setting off on a longer walk around the lake-side beyond Denny island. Returning to the café we all sat down to an excellent lunch with lots of lively conversation. After a group photo stop, on the way back to Woodford Lodge we observed the various activities on the Lake with many fishermen and a flotilla of yachts sailing around. The weather was a bit overcast but stayed dry for us on a most enjoyable walk.
