Aust, Littleton and Oldbury  5 April 2025

Walk Leader: Sue Rogers

Nine of us walked this mostly flat walk along country tracks and lanes starting in the village of Aust.

We passed through Littleton Upon Severn, having an early lunch in the churchyard of St Arilda Church, tempted by the  wonderful panoramic views of  the Severn Estuary , sailing  boats, clear views towards Oldbury Power Station and Chepstow in the warm sunshine.

We returned along the embankment of the Severn Estuary – a mere 2.5 miles  past the Severn View Services to Aust Village.

It was amazingly muddy in places, despite not having had much rain recently, but a  walk enjoyed by all on this lightly breezy day with white horses visible in the estuary.

  1. We hope that you liked the church – our (and Martin and Ruth’s) granddaughter Arilda is named after the Saint Arilda). So we are very fond of the church.
