Jubilee Treasure Hunt

We went ahead with this on a hot afternoon, and we had 3 teams entered. One of the teams completed and did extremely well. Another team (The Daves) made a sterling effort at winning the booby prize, and would have won it by a large margin, had we not forgotten to buy the prize. The other team started late and only did part of the course, but for the part they did do, they got all but one of the clues right.

Start and end point, with our new banner

We also made some new contacts, and two people are now wanting to join the club.

The two teams that did well said they really enjoyed it (and the other team had a good time down the pub, we heard). We are thinking of doing a re-run in September when it is a bit cooler, but we would like to know if people would be interested in doing it then. If you think you might like that, put a comment below. We will probably ask people on walks as well.

  1. I thought it was a lot of fun. We should have read beyond the question. No, we didn’t go to the pub. If we had gone to the pub our score would have probably been less. If that were possible.

  2. Thank you to the organisers, as always you did us proud. Well done everyone who took part on one of the hottest days of the year. The banner looks fabulous, I’m just sorry I was unable to take part. I like the idea of a re-run in September but again won’t be able to attend as I’m away visiting Japan!

  3. It was fantastic and Nigel’s clues were first class. Many thanks for all of the effort that went into the preparation. We’d love to finish it. Graham

  4. I’m sorry I missed the treasure hunt and it sounded lots of fun. Well done Nigel and all the organisers, I realise it took a lot of planning and research.

  5. John & I enjoyed the hunt very much. Thank you so much Nigel and Julie for all the enthusiastic prep. Despite the heat and with June’s excellent input, we made it to the finish. We did wonder where the Dangerous Daves had got to…..
