Amblers: Iron Acton – 6 miles

This walk starts and ends in Iron Action. There will be a stop for coffee part way through, and we will have a pub lunch together afterwards.

The iron part of the name Iron Acton originates from the fact that iron used to be mined in the village. The acton part derives from the Old English for farm or village with oak trees. Still today, there is an oak wood in the village beside the River Frome (according to Wikipedia).
