Long Walkers: Lacock Revisited – 9 miles

Lacock Abbey

This is a re-run of last November’s walk that had to be diverted due to flooding. The hope is that we will be able to walk beside the river rather than in it.

The walk starts and finishes in the picturesque Wiltshire village of Lacock, where many famous films and dramas have been shot, including the 1990’s Pride and Prejudice and Harry Potter and Chamber of Secrets.

A sizeable section of the walk follows the former Wilts and Berks Canal, which is currently in the process of being restored. Skirting around the edge of Pewsham, we touch the southern tip of Chippenham before returning to Lacock along the Avon Valley.
