Long Walkers: Stantonbury Hill – 9½ miles

5th October 2024 at 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

Stantonbury Hill

We will walk along the River Avon and then up the hill to Newton St. Loe. From here we will walk through Newton Park to Stanton Prior and around the Iron Hill Fort (c500 BC) of Stantonbury Hill, where there are wonderful views towards Bristol and the Mendips. We will then make our way back to Saltford, following footpaths through the fields.

There are several steepish hills, and it could be muddy, but no stiles.
