Wick Rocks – 9 miles

This walk starts from near the church in Doynton. Parking is best around the junction of Toghill Lane and Church Road / Bury Lane - along Toghill Lane as far as the village hall.

The route takes you from there to Wick Quarry, where it goes round the end, through the quarry workings and then to the old ochre works at Wick, now renamed the Wick Golden Valley Nature reserve. A climb up the hill takes you to Raven's Rock (Wick Rocks) with spectacular views over the lakes.

From there it heads across country to Pucklechurch, and joins Back Lane at the back of Ashfield Prison. It then goes round the outside of Pucklechurch before heading North-East almost as far as the M4 motorway. From there, it joins Monarch's Way all the way back to Doynton.
