  • Long Walkers: Litton Lakes – 9½ miles

    The main feature of the walk are the Litton Reservoirs, which are relative small as reservoirs go, but are nevertheless quite picturesque. We cover quite varied terrain, including woodland and hills with good views of the surrounding area. As well as the village of Litton, we also pass through the village of East Harptree.

    Amblers: Dramway South – 4 miles

    This walk is steeped in industrial heritage, taking in the southern part of the Dramway as well Willsbridge Mill and Londonderry Wharf. Although this area has reverted to scenic countryside, it was one a hive of activity of various different kinds.

    Strollers: Nunney – 2 miles

    This walk centres itself around the historic village of Nunney. Nunney is most famous for its medieval castle.

  • Train trip: Bradford-on-Avon

    All three groups are convening in Bradford-on-Avon. The Long Walkers will start from Bath and walk along the canal to Bathford where they will rendezvous with the Amblers, and continue together across country to Bradford-on-Avon.   • Long Walkers: Axbridge, Weare and Cheddar – 10 miles

    This walk takes in the village of Weare, the town of Axbridge and the Cheddar reservoir, which are situated on the edge of the Somerset levels. There are some spectacular panoramic views.

    Amblers: Pucklechurch – 5¼ miles

    This walk starts at Pucklechurch and sees the Brandy Bottom coal mine and the remains of Parkfield coal mine. It also passes through the linear settlement of Parkfield. There will be a coffee stop along the way, and we will have lunch together at the pub afterwards (for those that would like to).

    Social: Rambling Around Ethiopia — part 2

    June Sirman will be continuing her talk on her various walking activities in Ethiopia, that she gave to us in March. It will take place in the Wansdyke Room of Saltford Hall (that's the room behind the hall). Please arrive from 7pm for a prompt start at 7.30.
